Azores and Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations: Vol. 6

Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations is an American travel and food show. Host Anthony Bourdain visits overseas countries, cities worldwide, and places within the U.S., where hosts treat him to local culture and cuisine.

The episodes are currently available for streaming from Netflix as of April 2010. The show about the Azores was especially good. Bourdain talked about his start as a chef at Cape Cod, New England where he was exposed to the Azores cuisine by the many immigrants from the islands who have settled there. In the meantime, the economic conditions on the islands have improved significantly and many of the former migrants have moved back to their homeland.

The Azores is a Portuguese archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, about 1,500 km (930 mi) from Lisbon and about 3,900 km (2,400 mi) from the east coast of North America. The current Azores' main industries are tourism, cattle raising for milk and meat, and fishing.
