This deer had two babies but unfortunately her left rear leg was broken, it was hanging and motionless, and she was walking using only 3 legs. The Animal Control department of the Glenview Police was informed. Their policy was to "let nature take its course, and let the leg heal naturally, even if it does not return to its pre-fracture state" (the most likely outcome).
The same deer and her two offspring were seen a week later and she looked normal - able to walk and jump. Apparently, there was no fracture but some minor injury to the hoof or something similar.
