“Chloe”, a 14-year-old female African lion, was euthanized in April 2012 medical tests revealed she was suffering from advanced renal failure. “We didn’t want Chloe to suffer,” General Curator Geoff Hall said in a statement. Chloe had called the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo home since 1998. She was one of two lions in the African Savanna exhibit, where she lived with her half-brother, “Moufasa.” Lions can live up to 14 years, and up to 20 years in zoos (Source:
